Gravel Quarries

The gravel quarries of Orissa, India were some of the most brutal workplaces imaginable, what with the heat, the choking dust and noise. The footage from our video cameras was barely usable - the heat destroyed them. In this hellscape, grown men supervise as young children, girls and women haul rocks on their heads.
