Fernanda Mora
President & director
Fernanda Mora is an international human rights lawyer and advisor whose work focuses on the protection and advancement of human rights. Her areas of expertise include public law and international human rights law, economic, social, cultural, and nature rights (ESCNR), women’s and children’s rights, and the development of legal strategies and advocacy.
Her work also focuses on the implementation of international human rights standards within national legal frameworks and on advising public policy processes through a human rights-based approach.
She is a member of the Association of Lawyers, Judges and Prosecutors for Human Rights in Latin America and the Caribbean. Her past professional experience includes the Arias Foundation for Peace and Human Progress and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights monitoring compliance with judgment, she served as Coordinator of the Human Rights Commission of the Costa Rican International Law Association.
Across her legal, advocacy, and media work, she brings an interdisciplinary approach to human rights, connecting eco-centric and international standards with the lived experiences of individuals and communities and using law, education, and storytelling as tools for social change.
Sophie Omutanyi
Implementing partner for

Sophie Omutanyi is a social worker, child protection professional and the Project Manager at the African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAAN) the partner on the ground for the Media Voices for Children Kenyan School Project for over 20 years.
Her expertise spans on protection of child labour, child trafficking, commercial exploitation of children, education sponsorship, child participation, and WASH initiatives at both county and national levels.
She has extensive experience collaborating with government ministries, child protection stakeholders, and local and international development partners on project design, budgeting, implementation, and coordination.
Sophie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management, bringing both technical expertise and extensive field experience to her work protecting children and strengthening the systems that support them.
natalia Sandi
Communication Strategist
Natalia Sandi is a strategic communications professional and translator with over nine years of experience using storytelling, creativity, and digital communication to drive social impact.
She previously worked with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as part of its Western Hemisphere Program regional team, where she led strategic digital communications and Communication for Development initiatives focused on community engagement. She managed regional digital campaigns across Latin America and the Caribbean, with a focus on community engagement, safe migration, and youth participation.
She has also developed campaigns for NGOs, social initiatives, and global brands.
At Media Voices for Children, Natalia leads strategic communications efforts, helping translate complex human rights issues into accessible and engaging narratives that strengthen advocacy and public engagement.
Implementing partner for

Natasha Akholi is our partner in Kenya whose work focuses on ending child labour and child trafficking and strengthening systems that protect children.
As a Program Coordinator for the African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAAN), her work is based on child protection and youth advocacy.
Natasha works across government, civil society, development partners, and communities to support program implementation, policy development, monitoring and evaluation, and stakeholder engagement.
Natasha also serves as Kenya’s National Youth Mobilizer for the Global Youth-Led Movement on Ending Violence Against Children and Head of Protection for the Kenyan Coalition on Counter Trafficking in Persons.
Combining her knowledge on social project planning and social work, she contributes to national steering committees addressing child labour and commercial exploitation of children, bringing a strong commitment to ensuring that children and young people meaningfully participate in decisions affecting their lives.
Molly McNulty
Master’s Practicum student
Molly McNulty is a second-year master’s student in Human Rights at the University of Connecticut, with an academic background in Film Studies and Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
Her work focuses on human rights education, genocide prevention, research, and historical documentation.
At UConn, she develops genocide-prevention workshops for educators and supports human rights programming and academic research.
She also works with the Connecticut Digital Archive, curating materials from the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), including a specialized collection on sexual violence prosecutions.
Her experience spans human rights research, archival work, education, and working directly with children, bringing an interdisciplinary perspective to her work with Media Voices for Children
Paige boudreau

Paige Boudreau is an undergraduate student at the University of Connecticut pursuing a double major in Human Rights and Political Science.
With a strong interest in law, advocacy, and public service, she is a member of the UConn Law Society and Empowering Women in Law.
Paige also brings leadership and community engagement experience, including serving as a Site Manager with Big Brothers Big Sisters, where she supports program operations and provides youth mentorship.
Her campus leadership has included coordinating philanthropic initiatives, external partnerships, and large-scale recruitment efforts.
Through her work with Media Voices for Children, Paige brings together her academic focus on human rights with her commitment to advocacy, youth engagement, and social impact.
Kate Carlisle
Intern
Kate Carlisle is an undergraduate student at Princeton University studying Public and International Affairs, Spanish, and Finance.
With interests in public policy, economics, international affairs, and community engagement.
She has studied and volunteered in both the United States and Spain, where she organized community activities and coordinated volunteers while studying abroad in Zaragoza.
At Princeton, Kate is involved with Women in Business and Women in Economics and Policy and volunteers with community-based programs supporting local families and youth.
Her experience also includes tutoring, youth leadership, and storytelling, reflecting her interest in using communication and public service to engage with diverse communities and contribute to positive social impact.
